The challenge
IB-PRO designs pressure vessels and heat exchangers in a field where every calculation has to hold up against dense engineering regulation, especially the Indian Boiler Regulation 1950. For years that work leaned on spreadsheets, and spreadsheets do not scale to this kind of complexity.
Inputs were duplicated across files, formulas were easy to break, and a single misread of a regulatory clause could quietly invalidate a whole design. The team needed one accurate, fast platform that removed the manual guesswork and made compliance something they could trust rather than re-check.
Our approach
We built Quick Calculation, a web application that turns the IBR’s tangle of design rules into a guided, repeatable workflow. Engineers enter their parameters once and the platform returns precise outputs, so the margin for human error shrinks and the slow back-and-forth of spreadsheet maintenance disappears.
The interface was designed to stay approachable for engineers at any level, with the regulatory interpretation handled by the tool instead of left to each user. The result is faster calculations, cleaner compliance, and a team that can spend its time on engineering judgment rather than data entry.
